Who are we?
Mutual Agricutural SOftware Aliance

MASA was founded by a dedicated group of producers and long-time users of FBS Systems who recognized the enduring value of the accrual-based accounting system developed by Norm Brown in the 1980s. When the future of FBS became uncertain, these individuals—both customers and producers—came together to preserve and continue the legacy of a system that had become integral to the way they managed their operations. Today, MASA remains independently run by this same group, maintaining a deep understanding of both the software and the real-world challenges faced by agricultural businesses.
Over time, MASA has evolved into a solution-based company, offering a suite of products and services that support accurate accounting and informed decision-making in agriculture. While preserving the core principles of Norm Brown’s original system, MASA continues to innovate with tools that help producers manage complexity, improve financial insight, and drive operational success. With its roots firmly planted in the agricultural community, MASA remains committed to delivering tools designed by and for the people who use them.
Where it all started.
FBS Systems
Founded in 1980 in Aledo, Illinois, FBS Systems was created to provide a powerful accounting solution tailored specifically for agricultural producers.
Over the years, we’ve continued to innovate, helping farms optimize their operations and make data-driven decisions with confidence.
Integrating Machine Data
About Cropzilla

CropZilla enhances farm operations by providing real-time machine data analytics, offering insights into equipment performance, fuel use, and maintenance costs. This helps farmers optimize machinery, reduce downtime, and lower operational costs, enabling smarter, data-driven decisions.
When integrated with FBS, CropZilla’s data feeds directly into the accounting system, connecting machine performance with financial tracking. This integration offers a comprehensive view of both operational and financial health, helping farmers make informed investment decisions and track equipment ROI, ultimately boosting profitability and efficiency.
I’ve used CropZilla for 9 years and nothing else plans or tracks costs like it. It helps us plan ahead, learn from the past, and test changes before spending. In year one, two decisions boosted our profitability by 50%. Thinking about a CFO? Start here first.

Caleb Wilson
FBS has been invaluable for our swine operation. It helps us manage finances accurately, track costs, and make informed decisions. With everything in one place, FBS streamlines our operations and provides the insights we need to stay on top of our business.

Joe Dykhuis
MASA’s cloud-based FBS platform has transformed how we track information on our grain farm. It gives us real-time access to data, streamlines record-keeping, and helps us make more informed decisions to improve efficiency.

What are Business Intelligence Tools in Agriculture?
