Sun sets on another season of hard work.
Dear Friend,
Harvest season is wrapping up across the Midwest, as farmers bring in the last of their crops after months of dedication and careful cultivation. Combines have rolled through fields of corn and soybeans, marking the close of another productive growing season. With the final yields tallied and equipment being readied for winter, Midwest farmers reflect on a season shaped by unpredictable weather and hard-won results. CEO Update
A Message from Leslie
We have successfully transitioned all FBS customers from AgCompass to our managed Azure environment, providing access to the latest features and help resources. Next month, we will begin migrating on-premise customers to this new environment, which will extend into early 2025. Simultaneously, we are developing new capabilities and are pleased to announce the completion of a proof of concept for connecting FBS with Power BI. Customers in the cloud environment will now have the option to connect to Power BI via their virtual desktop or link to an existing on-premise instance, all integrated with their FBS database. This advancement significantly enhances analysis and reporting capabilities, allowing customers to merge additional datasets with FBS to comprehensively view their operations, trends, and key business indicators. Customers can use MASA’s professional services to develop Power BI capabilities, build solutions, or integrate with existing Power BI instances. We are also committed to delivering out-of-the-box dashboards and reports as part of our 2025 product roadmap, further expanding Power BI access for our clients.

While some content is still being updated, the full website will be live by December 1, 2024, offering a streamlined interface and improved accessibility to product information, support resources, and the latest MASA updates.
As part of this transition, our contact information is also being updated. Effective immediately, MASA sales inquiries can be directed to (319) 343-5488 or via email at sales@masa.ag. Cowser's Featured in Compeer Financial's Cultivate Magazine
At Cowser Inc., a multigenerational family farm in Bradford, Illinois, dedication to agriculture runs deep. Established by Delbert Cowser in the 1930s, this family farm has evolved through the decades, adapting to changing agricultural landscapes and innovations in farm management. Cheryl Cowser-Walsh, who represents the current generation, continues to steer the family farm with a blend of traditional values and modern practices. She emphasizes the importance of biosecurity and innovative approaches to animal health, implementing measures like mandatory showers for workers and efficient transportation for biosecurity. This commitment has helped Cowser Inc. remain a cornerstone in Illinois agriculture, even earning recognition as the 2020 Illinois Pork Producers Association Farm Family of the Year.
Beyond managing operations, Cheryl and her family contribute significantly to the agricultural community. They’re active members of the Peoria County Farm Bureau and collaborate on educational initiatives, including Agriculture in the Classroom. Cheryl, affectionately known as “The Peoria County Pig Lady,” leverages these opportunities to advocate for agriculture and inspire future generations. “Being involved in these organizations helps us advocate for the agricultural community and educate the next generation,” she shared, underscoring her commitment to the larger farming community and the future of farming in Illinois.
The enduring partnership between Cowser Inc. and Compeer Financial has also played a pivotal role in the farm’s success, aligning with MASA’s mission to empower farmers through strategic support. Cheryl highlights how collaboration and communication within the family are central to their approach, with each member contributing their strengths to daily operations. Weekly meetings and mutual support have allowed Cowser Inc. to adapt through unpredictable market shifts and continue thriving as a family-oriented, forward-thinking enterprise. As MASA supports farms like Cowser Inc. with integrated solutions, we are proud to celebrate Cheryl and her family’s dedication to advancing sustainable agriculture while preserving a resilient legacy.
